When I was in California earlier this summer, I had a chance to do a few photo shoots just for fun and to practice some different lighting techniques. Now I could have never done this in a million years if it weren’t for my incredibly giving friend Rebecca. Rebecca not only took a week off of work to hang out with me, but picked me up from the airport, gave me places to stay in L.A. and San Diego, hunted down coffee shops each morning, then drove me to San Diego & Palm Springs and back to L.A. for another workshop. If this weren’t enough, she also was able to get Genny to model for me while we were in San Diego and then assisted me at the shoot! These are only a few of her talents. She also writes, edits movies, and throws great parties. She’s ridiculously cool overall and because of her I was able to try some fashion ideas out on the beaches in La Jolla. I love La Jolla. It might be my all time favorite place in the world. I remember going there several times as a kid and seeing all the different kinds of sea life right in front of me in the wild. I could never get enough. The beaches have changed over the years, but they are still beautiful. I had some very specific ideas in mind, but the tide was way too high to even attempt them. This is the life of a photographer…think on your feet!I met Genny on the day of the shoot and we immediately started shooting until the sun went down. When I look through the images now, I can’t help but think there is a slight resemblance to Renee Zellweger. Genny, thanks so much for being so great and giving me 100% all the way through the last shot!
P.S. I have some new art images from the desert that I will be posting before long!
